The Mission of Extension Plant Pathology

The Plant Pathology Department has a strong commitment to serving the needs of the people of Kentucky.

Our mission is:

• To conduct applied and basic research to address diseases that concern agricultural stakeholders, including the public.
• To provide research-based educational outputs on plant diseases
• To provide plant disease diagnostic support for the educational programs of county Extension agents
• To develop effective, environmentally responsible options for managing plant diseases of importance in Kentucky
• To contribute to academic instruction in plant pathology in Kentucky.
